Trevor writes and presents submissions to Parliamentary Select Committees, Royal Commissions, and Boards of Inquiry on the implications of draft legislation and public policy.

Legal Practice

Trevor established Totara Chambers on going to the independent Bar in 2003. He provides advisory services and strategic advice to public and private sector clients, exclusively designed to meet their objectives.

Examples of his engagement in major projects include:

• Plan changes and variations regarding water allocation and contaminant discharges in the Waikato region.
• Resource consents for green waste composting in the Wellington and Auckland regions.
• Rezoning of redundant industrial and port land in Viaduct Harbour Precinct and Wynyard Quarter along the coastal edge of the Auckland CBD for architecturally acclaimed and award winning commercial and residential development.
• Resource consents for exploration of offshore oil and gas wells in the territorial sea along the Taranaki coastline.

From time to time, Trevor appears as counsel in the courts in public interest cases.

He was called to the Bar of England and Wales by Lincoln’s Inn in 1985 and was admitted as a Barrister of the High Court of New Zealand in 1996.
